MPES Student Advisory Committee

The Student Advisory Committee is a group of dedicated students who work to grow MPES at Harvard College, increase student engagement, and provide valuable input into the development of the Program. In 2023-24, the SAC is working on a project to create intellectual communities outside of the curriculum through reflection-based events and opportunities in the Houses.

Public Service with PBHA

Phillips Brooks House Association (PBHA) is a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and the largest public service organization at Harvard, encompassing 86 programs that serve over 10,000 youth and adults in the greater Boston area. PBHA programs emphasize direct service and social action as a facilitator for social change and to address several key community needs.

Trainings, Internships, Research, and Postgraduate Funding Opportunities 

Mindich Service Fellowships offer Harvard College students the premier opportunity to explore public service work for ten weeks during the summer. 

Fellows at the Forefront is an innovative summer program where students, scholars, practitioners, and activists work together on some of the most pressing issues of our time. 

Banga Social Innovation Research Fellowship: supports students to carry their thesis research forward by imagining innovative responses to the challenges and opportunities facing people, communities, the environment, and our collective future. 

The Harvard College Research Program (HCRP) provides funding in support of student-initiated, independent scholarly research or creative endeavors undertaken with guidance of a Harvard-affiliated faculty mentor. 

Postgraduate Public Service Fellowships support meaningful public service projects undertaken after graduation. 

The Buttenwieser Public Service Academy (PBSA) offers Harvard undergraduates the opportunity to enhance their leadership and management skills through a series of trainings and workshops. Training topics often include: mentoring, program management, advocacy and organizing, working with the elderly, teaching ESL, and more.
